Host & Revel ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website hostandrevel.com and the Party HQ planning application (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect
We collect the following kinds of information:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Facebook, basic profile information those providers share (such as your name and email).
- Event information. The details you enter to plan your events — event names, dates, locations, budgets, guest lists, vendor notes, to-dos, and similar content.
- Guest responses. When your guests RSVP, we collect the information they choose to provide, such as their name, email, phone number, party size, and any dietary notes or comments — but only the fields you, the host, choose to ask for.
- Feedback. If you submit feedback, we collect your message, rating, and any name or location you provide.
- Technical information. Basic technical data such as your browser type and general usage, used to keep the Service running and secure.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Service — saving your events, managing guest lists, and powering RSVPs.
- Send transactional emails you initiate, such as invitations and reminders.
- Send account-related emails, such as sign-up confirmation and password resets.
- Improve the Service and respond to feedback and support requests.
- Protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell or rent your guest lists.
How information is shared
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers. We use trusted third parties to host data and send email — including Supabase (database and authentication), Netlify (hosting), and Resend (email delivery). They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
- Your guests. When you send invitations or share an RSVP link, the event details you include are shared with the people you invite.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.
Sign-in providers
If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, those companies authenticate you and share limited profile information with us. Your use of those sign-in options is also subject to Google's and Facebook's respective privacy policies.
Data retention
We keep your account and event information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual events at any time from your My Events list, which removes that event's data. If you'd like your entire account and associated data deleted, contact us and we'll process your request.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Access and update your event information directly in the app.
- Delete events you no longer need.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Unsubscribe from non-essential emails (account and transactional emails are necessary to use the Service).
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (Europe) or CCPA (California), including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including authentication, access controls, and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and limit access to it.
Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults planning events. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated through the Service.
